M. Todd Wheeles, Esq.

M. Todd Wheeles is a Partner at the Law Firm of Morris, Haynes in Birmingham, Alabama. Born and raised in Clay County, Alabama, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Auburn University in 1995, his Masters of Science from Jacksonville State University in 1998 and his Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law in 2001.

In 1991, Mr. Wheeles began his career in Law Enforcement with the Lee County Sheriff’s Department in Opelika, Alabama, where he served as a Deputy Sheriff. In 1993, Mr. Wheeles became an Alabama State Trooper, where he was assigned to the Highway Patrol Division. In 1996, Mr. Wheeles joined the Alabama Bureau of Investigations, where he served as an Agent in the Major Crimes Division. He also was certified as a Polygraph Examiner and Hostage/Crisis Negotiator. In 2001, he was named the Alabama Bureau of Investigations’ “Agent of the Year”.

In 2002, Mr. Wheeles joined the Morris, Haynes firm. He has focused his practice entirely on Civil litigation. Mr. Wheeles prosecutes personal injury, wrongful death and product liability actions in State and Federal Courts all over the United States. He is a Member of the Board of Directors for the Birmingham School of Law Foundation. Recent accomplishments include verdicts of $1.5 million in Etowah County and $4.5 million in Calhoun County. Notable settlements include an $8 million personal injury case, a $10 million personal injury case and a Class Action Settlement against Taurus International Manufacturing for $239 million.
